Job description

At Vention, we build embedded products that make a real impact. But we don’t stop at just building them—we also build the tools that test them. And when production scales, so should testing. That’s why we’ve created our own automated test platform powered by Python.

Currently, this test system works… via a command-line interface. Not ideal on a buzzing production floor. That’s where you come in. Your mission (should you choose to accept it): build a graphical user interface (GUI) on top of our Python test backend, and make our production setup smoother, clearer and just a bit more Vention.


What you'll be doing

  • Create a slick, stable GUI for our existing Python-based testing system.

  • Dive into the world of embedded hardware, in-circuit tests and functional validation.

  • Collaborate with embedded engineers and production teams to understand real-world testing needs.

  • Translate technical backends into human-friendly interfaces—fast, clean and future-proof.


What you'll learn

  • How to build production-ready tools for real users.

  • Integrating GUIs (think: PyQt, Tkinter) with live Python backends.

  • The messy, beautiful reality of hardware/software co-development.

  • How to ship something meaningful in a fast-moving, no-nonsense tech company.

 

Job requirements

  • A student in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems or a related field.

  • Available for at least 4–5 months (starting September).

  • Not afraid of code, not afraid of asking questions, and certainly not afraid of building cool stuff.

  • Someone who gets excited by turning complexity into clarity.

  • Familiar with Python (GUI experience = bonus points, but not required).
